IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING S.C.A.Q.M.D RULE 1113 - Architectural Coatings On June 27, 2002, Ellis Paint Company was notified by the National Paint & Coatings Association (NPCA) that the Amended South Coast Air Quality Management District's Rule 1113 for Architectural Coatings VOC limit changes will not go in to effect on July 1, 2002, as planned. The NPCA has been working to appeal this amended VOC limit change since March 2000, and the Court of Appeal of the State of California made a final rule on this case on June 27, 2002. What this ruling means is that the current VOC limits for Architectural Coatings will remain in effect until the SCAQMD takes all necessary steps to adopt the VOC changes under the proper guidelines as set fourth under the ruling. It is not clear at this time if the SCAQMD will appeal this ruling. We will keep you posted on any new information we receive on this issue. Ellis Paint Company will continue to be a leader in the manufacture of high quality compliant products to meet all the VOC limits of SCAQMD, while participating in our industry associations to keep the rule making at SCAQMD fair and economical.
